SEASON 1975 IN FORMULA 1: "My name is Lauda - remember it"!

The 1975 season in Formula 1 started with huge expectations for the Brabham team, after their pilot Carlos Pace triumphed in the very first start of the calendar. The Argentine won the race at his home track of Interlagos in emphatic fashion, giving the Brits huge hopes of more success. However, it never comes to that. Brabham are losing speed, and the reason for this is the tires. A problem that does not find a solution until the end of the season and leaves Brabham out of the fight for the title.

Ferrari driver Niki Lauda, whose name was etched in the minds of competitors last season after 9 pole positions and wins in two of the starts, is ready to attack the world title. The Austrian is solidly supported by his team. His Ferrari 312T car is literally unattainable on the track, which, combined with Lauda's amazing qualities, makes him a sure contender for the most valuable honor in motorsport. So in 1975 the Austrian wins his first world title in Formula 1. Emerson Fittipaldi ranks second, and Carlos Rüttmann completes the ladder of honor. Unsurprisingly, Ferrari triumphed with the constructors' world title.

The 1975 season was again marred by deaths. Mark Donahue crashed on the practice track before the Austrian Grand Prix. A few days later, the American died of his injuries. Against this background, the Embassy Hill team is blackened by a sinister incident. 6 people die in a plane crash. They include team owner Graham Hill and driver Tony Brice.
