GREATEST 5 IN LOS ANGELES CLIPERS HISTORY

GREATEST 5 IN LOS ANGELES CLIPERS HISTORY

The Los Angeles Clippers are an NBA organization that has gained a lot of new fans over the past decade or so. Established in 1970, it does not enjoy impressive successes. It all started in New York State as the Buffalo Braves. Only 8 years later, we arrive at the Clippers that are still known today. But not in Los Angeles, but in San Diego. In 1984, the organization was officially part of LA. In all these years, the team never reached the NBA Finals. Regardless of whether we are talking about those of the league or in the respective conference. This in no way means that the Clippers do not have phenomenal basketball players. And these are the 5 with the greatest contribution to the history of the organization.

5. DeAndre Jordan

One of the most physically impressive centers in the NBA in recent years. In 2008, the Clippers made one of the best decisions in their history. They took Jordan at number 35. As a thank you, he stayed in Los Angeles for 10 years. During this time, he is regularly among the best defenders in the league, and his powerful dunks regularly "break" the opponent's basket. As part of the team, he led the entire league in field goal percentage five times and rebounds twice. In 2021, the Texan returned to Los Angeles, but with the Lakers team. However, Clippers fans remember his game with a smile.

4. Elton Brand

Brandt spent the first two years of his NBA career with the Chicago Bulls. In 2001, the Clippers selected Tyson Chandler in the draft and immediately sent him to the Bulls. In return they get Brand - a great deal! Elton is becoming one of the best power forwards in the league. And the competition is deadly because it includes Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki, etc. Brand finished 4 seasons with 20+ points per game, sending him to two All-Star Games. In 2006, he led the team to their first playoff appearance in Buffalo history. In the next round, the team came close to eliminating the Phoenix Suns with Steve Nash, but fell short.

3. Bob McAdoo

Bob is one of the pioneers in Clippers history. Or rather the Buffalo Braves. He joined the team just 2 years after being drafted as the #2 pick. The center remained in the team for only 4 years, but they were memorable. In three consecutive seasons, he is the most productive basketball player in the NBA. McAdoo is currently among the inductees into the Hall of Fame. There is no doubt that he is the first greatness in Clippers history.

2. Chris Paul

When the guard arrived from New Orleans to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2011, it was clear to everyone that he was very talented. In LA, the diminutive star unleashed a huge part of his potential. In 6 seasons with the Clippers, he played in 5 All-Star Games, which is a clear sign of consistency. With him in its lineup, the organization won its only two titles in the Pacific Division. To this day, analysts wonder how a team with Paul, Jordan and Blake Griffin didn't achieve more. However, that doesn't take away from the greatness of CP3 in LA.

1. Blake Griffin

Along with Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan, Blake was part of the greatest successes in Clippers history. According to many, he is the main figure in them. Extremely powerful and incredibly spectacular to watch. Handily selected by the Clippers with the No. 1 pick in the 2009 draft over talents like James Harden, Steph Curry, Ricky Rubio, and more. Voted Rookie of the Year and reached 5 All-Star games with the team from Los Angeles. From an athletic dunk, he developed his game to solid mid-range shooting, confident dribbling, increasing assists and an increasing percentage from the free throw line. Griffin spent 8 1/2 years with the Clippers. They could be even better if they didn't have the injury problems...
