Michael Jordan's sensational return to basketball

.

After the end of the 1992/93 NBA season, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls are on the crest of a wave – the best basketball player in the world and the most dominant team on the planet are already 3 times champions in a row, and their dominance seems to have no end. But then the unthinkable happens - Air's father is murdered that summer, and in desperation Air gives up basketball to pursue a career in baseball (something he promised his father).

Chicago is a far cry from its former self in the years to come, while Jordan, though not as tragic as many expect, can't find himself in Major League Baseball. However, no one expects Jordan to return to basketball. That's why a short PR message literally blows up the sports world, especially across the Ocean.

"I'm coming back."

On March 18, 1995, Jordan's agent sent one of the most exciting short messages in sports history to all the media in the country. With those two simple words, basketball is rocked to its foundations, and the Airman returns to the NBA to reclaim his throne as the most dominant basketball player in the history of the great orange ball game.

At the time, the Bulls were far from their prime, and especially in the season Mike returned, Chicago was 31-31 on the verge of missing the playoffs that campaign. Just a day after the memorable March 18th, Mike was back with Chicago and in his return scored "just" 19 points during a game against Indiana. Despite his lackluster performance, this is the most watched game this season (outside of the playoffs), and Jordan is coming into form so quickly that he is able to lead the Bulls not just to the playoffs, but to the conference semifinals. There, however, the Chicago Bulls lost to the rising team of the Orlando Magic, where none other than the most dominant center in the league (years later) Shaquille O'Neal shined the brightest.

However, this defeat only further fuels the fire burning in Michael Jordan. He returned to practice immediately after the season ended, and after the bitterness of being eliminated, the Airmen never lost another playoff series in his career. What's more - in the next 3 years, the Chicago Bulls again won 3 titles in a row, and Jordan was named "most valuable player" in the Finals 3 times.

To this day, the only team to record 3 consecutive titles is the Los Angeles Lakers, while a number of Jordan's records are still intact to this day. Pretty good for a player who was "done" with basketball, as many wrote after his Chicago comeback in 1995.
