MCGREGOR VS NURMAGOMEDOV: Clash of the Titans

In almost every sport where individual class is key to ultimate success, there are proverbial rivalries. Such is the case between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Two titans whose clash went well outside the Octagon, even though that's where the point should have been made.

The year is 2018, and the UFC 229 fight between the two most prominent fighters is a highly anticipated event. According to many MMA fans, the fight is the epitome of good versus evil. Loud threats and threats and a lot of tension mark the days before the match. The crowd is fired up, no less than the fighters in the Octagon.

However, the lightweight champion manages to surprise the tough Irishman. Nurmagomedov dominated the match and forced McGregor to surrender in the fourth round. Another moment of the event, however, leaves an impression. After the end of the match, the otherwise more favored Dagestani jumped the cage and literally pounced on McGregor's teammates. What follows is a massive fight that takes place both inside and outside the Octagon. The conflict led to the intervention of the police, and the two fighters were escorted out of the hall.

In 2021 Mixed martial arts sensation Khabib Nurmagomedov has announced the end of his career. After 29 wins and 0 losses, the Dagestani said goodbye to the audience and the octagon. This again became an opportunity for attack by the more outspoken Irishman, who wrote:

"Congratulations pensioner, see you again. Never forget who got you into the game and created you. Straight from my big Irish eggs. Remember guys, if you hate losing weight so much, all you have to do is go up. God bless",

The verbal rivalry between the two went beyond moral boundaries. After Khabib Nurmagomedov posted congratulations on Dustin Poirier's victory over Conor McGregor, topped with "good always wins evil", the Irishman hit back with an allusion to the death of the Dagestani's father. "Covid is good and your father is evil?".
