There is hardly a person in the world who has not heard of Mike Tyson and cannot name at least one of his achievements. However, few know the path he takes to reach the top. Born in 1966. in the mecca of boxing - Brooklyn, New York, Tyson is forced to fight for everything. At the age of 12, he was sent to a home for troubled children, as he had 38 arrests for various acts of vandalism. It was there that boxing revealed itself to him in all its glory.

"The kids there came from one place bloodied and bruised and with broken ribs, that place was where the boxing sessions were held, in the correctional facility itself", Tyson said years later in his book. He adds, however, that although injured, the children were smiling. So he decided to enroll in the correctional school's sports program. Muhammad Ali became his inspiration.

Even as a child, Tyson was distinguished by his extraordinary mass. Only 13 years old weighed 90 kg. The powerful blows coming from him just had to be perfected and the legend would become a fact.

Mike Tyson's training is entrusted to legendary trainer and manager Cus D'Amato. The boy even lives with him, and later D'Amato becomes his guardian when he becomes an orphan.

He starts out as an amateur, but quickly realizes that the money and fame are in professional boxing. His debut there was in 1985. against Hector Mercedes. Tyson wins in the first round. However, this is not a surprise. In the same year, he participated in 15 more fights, winning each of them before the final gong.

For his image, which is an indisputable factor in the success of a professional boxer, Tyson relies on an unusual performance. Without the usual music, bathrobes and glamour.

Over the years, he easily won the IBF, WBA and WBC world heavyweight titles. His success is undeniable and he is nicknamed "The Iron Man" and "The Dinosaur" because of the indomitable spirit and strength he possesses. All his triumphs, however, are accompanied by controversial and often illegal behavior. He went to prison several times, but never stopped his active career in the ring. His animal instinct to win led him to even rip a piece out of Evander Holyfield's ear in the titanic rematch between the two in the 1990s. In the history of boxing, he leaves a definite mark and becomes an example of a strong spirit that overcomes all difficulties with the clear goal of success at any cost.
