The shocking and unexpected inJeremy Lin's rise to the NBA

How to go from nobody to somebody in just a few weeks

The National Basketball Association can always offer us magical stories. Stories to make us think that literally everyone has a place in the NBA. Everyone can have their moment - be it for one game, for one season, for a longer or shorter period of time, and it doesn't matter what the media and experts say about you.

One of the most remarkable stories is that of Jeremy Lin. The California-born basketball player, who has Taiwanese roots, is having his golden moment in the league, where he has been staying for quite some time. A period that some people define as real madness, or in a literal translation - "Linsanity"

Already in the summer of 2010. The Golden State Warriors selected a point guard in the draft, but only in December 2011. he may make his NBA debut. Then the New York Knicks signed Lin because almost every player at that position on the team was injured and needed a new player in Mike D'Antoni's selection to join the rotation. From ESPN they immediately write that the Knicks do not have a clear plan for Jeremy's development and he can be released before February 10 of next year, and without receiving the amount due to him until the end of the contract, or any compensation. According to the publication, with the return of Iman Shumpert from injury, Lin will be released, but events are far from happening that way.

After just 55 minutes played so far this season, we come to the February 4th date where Jeremy Lin played nearly the entire game against the New Jersey Nets. He gets 36 minutes from Di'Antoni, who is already wondering what to do after his team is on an 11-game losing streak. Lin scored 25 points, dished out 7 assists and grabbed 5 rebounds to become the player with the most credit in the 99-92 victory over the Nets. After the fight, Lin said that he is still in shock from what happened, but he is trying to accept it and prove that he can still do it.

And five days later, Jeremy helped his team win for the second time in a row, and this time the victim was the Washington Wizards. However, this is not all that the point guard can demonstrate. A day later, he scored 38 points in a win over the Los Angeles Lakers in front of the Knicks' home fans at Madison Square Garden. 38 points scored against a team that has Kobe Bryant in its lineup. This is an achievement for history. After another 4 days, he finished with a triple-double in the victory over the Toronto Raptors. An achievement that is also the highlight of his career.

On March 14, 2012, Mike DiAntoni left New York and this turned out to be the number one blow to Lin's career, although he did not have bad statistics. The Knicks lost 6 games in a row earlier this month, followed by a 42-point victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, but Jeremy scored just 6 points and committed the same amount of fouls. At the end of the month, his best NBA era also comes to an end after he has to undergo meniscus surgery after leaving the Detroit game with that injury. From that moment on, Lin never played for the Knicks, although he averaged 14.6 points and 6.2 assists in 35 games.

He currently plays in China, but has previously been a part of the Houston Rockets, LA Lakers, Charlton Hornets, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks and even won the title with the Toronto Raptors in 2019, but never came close to his performance in February 2013
