"Goal 2: To live the dream!"
How Santiago Munez got to Real Madrid and how hard it is to be at the top
The dream of every child who loves football is to one day play at a professional level and wear the shirt of one of the biggest teams in the world. Or at least to some team from the elite divisions of England, Spain, Italy, Germany, etc.
The film series "Goal", which tells us the story of Santiago Munez, played by Kuno Becker, is certainly more than inspiring for children and even for teenagers, who see how a Mexican immigrant in the United States of America fulfills his dream and reaches the most - the good European teams. However, in this article we will only talk about the second film, which has an addition to the title "Living the dream", which only suggests that the main character has already achieved the most desired thing in his life, namely to play for Real Madrid.
The film, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, has a very simple idea, which the director turns into a genius product, not one, but three. In the second film of the "Goal" series, Santiago Munez moves from the English Newcastle to the Spanish giant Real Madrid. However, his friend Roz Harmison, played by Anna Friel, remains in England to continue her training as a nurse. The two plan to see each other very often, but not everything goes so smoothly. Santiago's football career is developing successfully, but there are too many things going on personally that can get in the way.
Santiago meets his long-lost mother and little half-brother, which sends him off the rails. Also, away from his beloved, he falls in love with a beautiful TV presenter. All problems that could lead to a collapse of his performance in the shirt of the "royal club".
You can guess for yourself that "Goal 2" is not as successful as the first one, because it goes too much into his personal life and dilutes the idea of following his football career purely. However, this, on the other hand, is very instructive and demonstrates to us that even a person who has fulfilled his most cherished dream can deviate from the right path and make a lot of mistakes that prevent him from continuing to dream more greater career success.
"Goal 2" shows that you can really live your dream, "Goal 2" can also inspire you like the first movie, but there is one thing that cannot be avoided. And this is that the film shows that in order to live your true dream, you have to be ready to make a lot of personal sacrifices and nothing should distract you if you want to be successful.
