JOSHUA VS WHITE: TIME TO SETTLE OLD SCORES!
In 2013, Anthony Joshua debuted in the professional ring with a glittering reputation among amateurs. In 2012, AJ entered the club of Olympic champions after a title in London, and just a year earlier he also took silver from the world championship in Baku. During the entire amateur career of the Watford-born boxer, he was defeated by three people. In the professional ring, he faces memorable matches against Wladimir Klitschko, Andy Ruiz, Alexander Povetkin, Alexander Usyk, Kubrat Pulev and many other heavyweight stars. But who would have guessed that one of his most emotional bouts in the professional ring was already in the distant 2015. And who would have guessed that it would be against one of the three who beat Joshua as an amateur - Dillian Whyte!
The two met in the amateur ring in 2009. At that time, Anthony was 20 years old and had been training boxing literally for months. Dilian is much more prepared and congratulates himself on the victory. However, later the big star of British amateur boxing in the heavyweight division was called Anthony Joshua. AJ is destined to be the future of the sport, and his successes prove it. He steps aggressively and with well-measured moves in the pro ring. At the same time, White's amateur career ended quickly after a doping scandal, and as a professional he fought more for a living than to reach the top of the world. But White is of the opinion that it is he who deserves Joshua's glittering career. Because he defeated him and, according to him, he is better than his compatriot.
After the announcement of the professional fight between the two, White has been extremely aggressive with the media before the meeting. It also carries over to the ring. Joshua enters the match with a perfect record of 14 wins in 14 matches. Already in its first seconds, the match turns into a spectacle. In the second round, for the first time in the professionals, Anthony is shaken. And very seriously. In the end, Joshua won the fight by knockout in the 7th round. This also turns out to be the longest meeting for the Briton so far (the previous record is the 3rd).
After the match, AJ says he made a mistake in the ring. Joshua commented on how he succumbed to his opponent's emotions and provocation. But he describes the scandals with White as very useful for him and a lesson in how to control his anger. The Briton also takes his revenge against White, who defeated him in the amateurs.
