RULES ARE RULES: WHAT'S FORBIDDEN IN BOXING?

Boxing is the most recognizable and popular combat sport. Despite the tough competition of kickboxing, Eastern and mixed martial arts, the classic remains two people with gloves against each other in the ring. One of the reasons boxing has become so famous is its very precise rules. Yes, there will always be room for mean play between the ropes. In matches, there are always ways to hurt your opponent outside of the rules. But in a sport believed to be 5,000 years old, everyone knows what they need to do to beat their opponent fair and square. And honesty and integrity are the qualities that distinguish winners from great champions. But what should you do to avoid breaking the rules?

First of all, we should note that in boxing, punches should be with hands only. Unlike many other combat sports, kicks are absolutely prohibited. Regardless of whether they will involve the knees or not. It is also forbidden to hit the opponent with the head, shoulder, forearm or elbow. You should limit yourself to only hitting with the gloves, but not just any kind. It is absolutely unacceptable to attack with an open glove, with the inside of the glove, with the wrist or with any part other than the tip. It sounds very simple, but it is not so easy to implement. Sometimes instinct leads you to break the rules. If you do, however, you face punishment. It can be a verbal warning, a deduction of points or even a disqualification.

Of course, the rules in boxing are not at all limited to the ones we have listed so far. We have already specified what you should and shouldn't hit with. Equally important is where and when you hit. The rulebook prohibits all attacks below the belt. You can't hold your opponent, you can't kick, bite, spit, push or fight him. It's all decided by two straight men or women giving each other fair and square punches. You cannot hit the opponent when he has his back to you. You can't hit him while holding onto the ropes either. You can't clinch either.

These, my friends, are the basic rules of boxing. If you follow them, then your chance of fair victory is available. If you go against them, you will go against yourself. The judge will be against you, the honor will be against you, and the spectators will hardly be on your side. Part of the principles of boxing is to follow these rules. Do it!
