The biggest match in UFC history

Stephan Bonnar and Forrest Griffin took combat sports to a very high level

Combat sports have thousands of fans all over the world, and in recent years free fights and UFC in particular are after the most watched events of this rank. However, we're going to go back in time to reminisce about a match that is considered by MMA fans to be the greatest fight in history. We're going back to the day that changed UFC history.

The year is 2005, the debut of the Ultimate Fighter show, and the finale offers us a fight between the two best - Forrest Griffin and Stefan Bonnard. April 9th goes down in history as the day free fight fans can enjoy the perfect match. Or at least that's how the experts and supporters of this sport define it.

Both contestants come out as if at war. A war that only the fittest can win. 3 rounds of 5 minutes, stuck in the Octagon and obliged to show even more than 100% of their capabilities. Griffin and Bonnard do just that and they don't disappoint fans. Both enter the battle without fear, without thinking about possible loss and the heavy blows they have to bear. And after the final gong, they both celebrate.

However, the decision is a win in favor of Griffin. Unanimous judge's decision. All three scorecards read 29-28 for the Georgia native. But that doesn't seem to be the most important thing in this case. The important thing is that the spectators and lovers of MMA fights have enjoyed something that may not happen again soon.

Griffin subsequently became a fan favorite and always gave his best in the Octagon. On the other hand, Bonnar has tested positive for steroids more than he has impressive wins and ends his UFC career with 8 wins and 7 losses.

Still, the magical night in Las Vegas will forever go down in history as the fight that took the sport to another level.
