The New York-born genius is among the record holders for World Series of Poker bracelets won. Seidel has 9, and adds 41 final table appearances to them. His consistent play has led him to 119 circuit cashes (5th all-time). In 1988, Eric lost the final fight against another legend - Johnny Chan. However, Seidel earned $280,000 from the race in question alone. The American adds other titles to his business card, such as those from the World and European Poker Tour. The mind of the legend nicknamed Sly catches the eye even in his childhood years. At 12, Eric appeared on the CBS television show Tell the Truth. He later studied at Brooklyn College, which may not be among the most elite in the US, but it is among the cheapest. There he awakens a passion for gambling at a professional level. For several years Seidel made his money through the popular backgammon game in Bulgaria as well. Sly devotes almost all his time to it and reaches the legendary Mayfair Club in New York. He played backgammon professionally for 8 years, then poker appeared.
At first, Eric saw the game of cards only as a break from the backgammon. Subsequently, poker became more and more popular. Both in the US and in the heart of Sly.
