THE FIVE GREATEST "DINOSAURS" IN NBA HISTORY

THE FIVE GREATEST "DINOSAURS" IN NBA HISTORY

It is clear to all that the National Basketball Association of the USA and Canada belongs primarily to the States. But since 1995, the Canadian city of Toronto has a proud representative among the best in the league. In their relatively short history, the Raptors have a remarkable 7 titles in the Atlantic Division, which currently includes the Celtics, Seventy Sixers, Nets and Knicks. In 2019, the city of Toronto celebrated reaching its first ever NBA Finals. A few days later, the Raptors also triumphed with the title. And these are the five greatest "dinosaurs" in history.

5. Chris Bosh

In 2010, Chris Bosh went to Miami to form a killer trio with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. The Heat won two titles and people seemed to forget how good Bosh was in his Canadian affair in Toronto. In 2003, the Raptors selected him with the No. 4 pick in the draft, and they didn't make a mistake. As a "dinosaur", Chris played in 5 All-Star Games. In 3 of his last 4 seasons, he averaged over 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. For 7 seasons, Bosh gave his absolute best for the Raptors.

4. Vince Carter

Some call Vince the Michael Jordan of the Toronto Raptors. Carter has a major league record 22 seasons, and the most impressive of those were right there with his first team. More seasoned NBA viewers will remember some of his dunks forever. With his 9,420 points, he is the top scorer in the organization's history. As part of Toronto, Vince made 5 All-Star appearances. At least one championship ring would easily send Carter to the top spot in our rankings.

3. DeMar DeRozan

Another Raptors icon who deserved to become a champion with the team. But he didn't succeed... In 2009, the "dinosaurs" chose the future star at number 9 in the draft. He remained a part of the organization for 9 seasons. And he didn't want to leave her, unlike the likes of Carter, Bosh and Damon Stoudemire. As part of it, he went from a talent to a multiple All-Star. Rest assured, Toronto still loves him.

2. Kawhi Leonard

DeMar DeRozan left Tornoto for one main reason - Kauai. He arrived in the organization from the San Antonio Spurs after being traded for DeMar. And he did the unthinkable... Leonard repeated his feat from 2014 with the Spurs. Title and MVP award in the final series. In 2019, Leonard had one of the most memorable playoffs in NBA history. Soon after the triumph, Kauai opted to leave and the Raptors had no chance to retain their trophy. But without the wing they wouldn't have won it!

1. Kyle Lowry

The greatest "dinosaur" of all time. Unlike the likes of Bosh, DeRozan and Carter, he played for years in Canada, but also took home a championship ring. His performance in over 500 games for the Raptors sent him to 6 consecutive All-Star Games between 2015 and 2020. Kawhi Leonard played a major role in the title in 2019. But this was Lowry's team and Lowry's organization. Rest assured that someday Vince Carter, Chris Bosh and Kawhi Leonard will be part of the Hall of Fame. Hopefully we'll see Kyle in it too.
