After 5 years of dominance by Ferrari and Michael Schumacher, the competition is finally finding the key to dislodge the Scuderia from the top. The young Renault driver Fernando Alonso enters the battle for the world top. The Spaniard won the second start of the calendar for the Malaysian Grand Prix, and subsequently the next two, making a strong bid for the world title.
