"Ayrton Senna: Portrait of a Racing Legend”- autobiography about the career of the Brazilian pilot
The memories of a legend are revived with the book of Bruce Jones
Motorsports has some of the most talented and quality athletes. To compete at such a high speed requires amazing qualities and inhuman effort. Some of the best also make it to the icing on the cake, which for car racers is Formula 1. No matter how many good drivers there are, no matter how many titles and races they have won, there is always one driver who will be loved by all. His name is Ayrton Senna. So if you don't know the Brazilian's history, it's worth getting to know it.
And since 2019, you can do it through a wonderful book entitled "Ayrton Senna: Portrait of a Racing Legend", or in Bulgarian "Ayrton Senna: Portrait of a Legend". This is an illustrated autobiography of one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time. It was specially written to mark 25 years since the tragic accident at the Imola circuit in Emilia-Romagna in 1994, when he lost his life after crashing into one of the concrete barriers.
Senna's complete autobiography was written by a well-known author of such sports books as Bruce Jones. It examines the 10-year career of what is considered the greatest pilot of all time. Senna managed to reach three Formula One titles, win 41 races, climb 80 times on the podium and that without always being part of the team with the best car.
The curious moments in a sports autobiography from life off the track, from the athlete's childhood, from not only sports moments may not be enough for people who only look with curiosity at such a book and the life of an athlete. On the other hand, the illustrations make people who watched Senna live relive the moments that began with the Brazilian Grand Prix in 1984 and continued until the tragedy in Italy.
Jones' words combined with unique footage make one imagine what it's like to be on the track next to this Brazilian talent, to fight him for the world title, even beat him, but still not be as popular with the fans. This book can be a very useful read for younger F1 fans who would do well to learn the history of their favorite sport and, in particular, of one of the greatest drivers ever to grace the grid.
The passion and emotion that the author brings in definitely captivates the readers. They get a further look at Senna's confessions and can once again ask what he would have achieved had he not lost his life at only 34 years old. Again, there remains the sense of an unfinished life that has yet offered so much in so little time.
"Ayrton Senna: Portrait of a Racing Legend" is not just a great autobiography. It is an easy to read book, very useful, which leaves the reader with a pleasant feeling and makes him remember or learn the story of a great athlete, part of Formula 1, whose life, unfortunately, had a tragic end.
